LAVA TUNNELS.

Hey!

So I'm exhausted now, so the post may not be too informational. HOWEVER, the pictures hopefully will give a good idea of the beauty and craziness we saw. We went to El Malpais--which means the bad country. NO wonder--it was horrible there. Well, if you were trying to walk a horse or wagon through it. See, a volcano erupted a very very long time ago, leaving a bunch of lava to move down the valleys (which are now huge). It's crazy. When we went climbing in the lava caves, --there wasn't anything except for lava rocks to walk on. There were a few bushes around and maybe a few VERY old trees, but still. Not a spec of dirt to be seen. Here are some pictures:

It was a lot of fun--especially the end of the last cave we explored. There's this one place where at the end, we had to go straight up through a small whole with many big (and small) rocks. We were going from pitch black to a light right above us. Not surprisingly, it was called the "birth canal" NO JOKE!!!! So we made plenty of jokes through the whole thing--at the end, I crawled through the last bit and said "IT'S A GIRL!" :) Congrats to me.

Well, that's about it! We're all pretty exhausted. Thankfully none of us sprained anything or fell too hard on the rocks :) I have more pictures, but maybe I'll leave that for a "random picture" post :)
